Jenny Burnett

Jenny Degan Burnett was born in Pennsylvania and moved to St. Augustine in 1978. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science, Health and Business Administration in 1996. She is a mother to two daughters, Emily and Lauren. Jenny volunteers her time with teachers, students, staff and parents at RB Hunt Elementary School, where she is also the co-editor of the school’s yearbook. Jenny’s history with the Junior Service League of St. Augustine dates back to 1988, when she was a member of the Sub-Junior Service League at St. Augustine High School. During her time as a Sub-Junior, Jenny assisted in many JSL fundraisers, and also served as Vice President during her Senior Year. In 2004, she joined the JSL of St. Augustine as a provisional member. During her tenure with the League, Jenny served as Scrapbook Chair, Social Chair, Candidate Chair, Gala Co-Chair, Lightner East Restoration Project Board member, and as an Executive Board member in the role of Corresponding Secretary. Jenny completed her active JSL membership in 2009 and currently serves in the role of Active Sustainer. In addition to her service with the League, Jenny also has assisted several other organizations in their fundraising efforts, including: the American Cancer Society – Cattle Barons Ball, St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum – Lighthouse Festival, Trinity Episcopal Learning Center – Silent Auction, and RB Hunt - Fall Festival. Jenny is honored to be considered a candidate for Society Queen at the Junior Service League’s Halla Galla 2013.

Bonne Jones

Bonne Jones is a proud native of St Augustine Florida where she was raised in a home in north city; which later became her hair salon and spa. She then turned the location into Cortesse’s Bistro (one of “Florida’s top 25 restaurants,” awarded in 2003) and the Flamingo Room, a much loved (and missed) martini bar. Bonne is a member of Cathedral Parish, attended CPS and St. Josephs Academy as well as Roffler Barber College. Bonne has been a Certified Interior Designer of 25 years and uses her love for design and hospitality in her great success as a licensed Realtor® with Watson Realty Inc..Bonne holds multiple real estate certifications including: REALTOR® certification, TRC, Trans National Realtor Certification, Memberships of: National Association of Realtors, Northeast Florida Board of Realtors, St. Johns County/St. Augustine Board of Realtors as well as the StAR Council. Her other recent charitable interests have been the American Cancer Society and was awarded the “American Cancer Society 2011 Baroness” for her fundraising efforts and society representation. Bonne is truly honored to be chosen as a candidate for the 2013 JSL Society Queen and looks forward to making a difference for the nonprofits that benefit from this years gala.

Juanita is the owner of The Wright Touch Mobile Spa. She is also the former senior vice president of Spa Laterra. Juanita is well known in the industry as a celebrity beauty expert. She has creating several successful 5-star spa businesses in Canada, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and has now opened satellite offices in Miami, Atlanta, Jacksonville and St. Augustine.
Juanita’s innovative style has quickly established her as one of the industries front runners in the beauty industry. She has had the privilege of working with notable celebrities such as the first lady Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez, Bill Murray Patti Labelle, Natalie Cole, and Chaka Khan.
If that is not enough, Juanita also sets the gold standard for sales productivity and client service in Jacksonville Florida as an esteemed residential, commercial and investment real estate agent with Watson Realty, one of the world's leading high-end real estate companies.

Todd Broder grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for his undergraduate program and then was accepted into the University of Florida (UF) for medical school. While at the University of Florida, he received his medical degree and became board certified in adult and forensic psychiatry. Following his program at UF, he moved to the Saint Augustine area where he currently works as a psychiatrist for Flagler Hospital’s inpatient unit. He is also the medical director of Flagler Hospital’s outpatient mental health program. He works for courts performing psychiatric evaluations for legal purposes. In his spare time, Todd enjoys running, traveling, kayaking and hiking.

Captain Robert K. Mathis, Jr. is the owner of Old City Water Excursions, providing custom tours of the local waterways. Robert is honored to be selected as a candidate for Society King! Born and raised in St. Augustine, Robert’s mother, Jane, would often recruit him to help with JSL events - sometimes picking up trash, sometimes waiting tables, and more recently, parking cars for parties at her house. Robert currently serves as President of the Tower Club, a "Young at Heart" professional's group which supports the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum, with a focus on the programs for at risk and underserved children. He also serves as Volunteer Chairman of the St. John’s Unit Operating Board for the American Cancer Society.

Chris Schmidt

As the Chief Operating Officer of Flagler Hospital St. Augustine, Christopher Schmidt oversees the day-to-day operation of this 335-bed acute-care facility, which has been ranked among the top five percent in the nation for clinical excellence and patient safety for the past seven consecutive years. Prior to Flagler Hospital, Schmidt served as a Nurse Corps officer for the United States Navy in multiple areas of the world, including Japan and the western Pacific, Puerto Rico, the Horn of Africa, and, most recently, a 15-month deployment in Afghanistan. Schmidt retired in 2012 at the rank of Commander after 22 years of service. During his Naval career, Schmidt held a variety of positions in the medical field, including Emergency Department Director, Chief Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Management Officer, Associate Director of Surgery, and Specialty Advisor for Emergency/Trauma Nursing to the Surgeon General of the Navy. Chris is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Nurse and has held national certifications in Paramedics and Flight Nursing, and national appointments with the Emergency Nurses Association. He has held clinical faculty positions at both the University of Maryland-Baltimore and the University of North Florida and also authored several research and book chapters in the emergency nursing field. Although a Florida native, Schmidt grew up a son of a Naval Officer and traveled the United States for 15 years, before calling Pensacola, Fla. his home. He is a graduate of Florida State University where he earned his BSN degree in 1990, as well as New Hampshire College and the University of Texas-Houston alumni where he received a master’s degree in Emergency Trauma Nursing and Specialization as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Schmidt and his wife Jules have been married for 22 years and have four children.
